On March 6, Airports Council International (ACI) World recognized Vantage network member Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) as a 2016 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award winner. LPIA placed 2nd in its category for Best Airport with over 2 million passengers per year in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This is the first year that LPIA placed in the top three airports overall for the region. Since introducing quarterly ASQ surveys in 2011,  the airport consistently placed strong emphasis on passenger experience and innovation. In 2015, twenty BorderXpress kiosks developed by Vancouver Airport Authority were installed, cutting wait times and expediting the border clearance process at LPIA’s U.S. pre-clearance facility. In 2016, NAD also implemented Electronic Boarding Pass scanners, which allow travelers without checked bags to use mobile devices displaying their electronic boarding passes to move directly through to security checkpoints and onto their gates.

ASQ Awards are presented to the highest performing airports participating in ACI’s passenger satisfaction survey program. Over the course of the year, passengers rate participating airports on 34 separate key performance indicators, including airport access, check-in, security screening, restrooms, stores and restaurants. In 2016, passengers traveling through participating airports completed over 600,000 individual surveys in 41 languages and 84 countries.
