On July 31, Midway Partnership unveiled the first phase of its transformation of the concessions program at Chicago Midway International Airport.  A new 6,300 square foot food court now offers Midway passengers eight new restaurants and six new shops throughout the concourses – with more to come in the next three years.

Brought to life with a lively and local ChicaGO MIDWAY brand, the new dining and shopping experience showcases the authentic flavors and iconic style of Chicago, alongside some favourite international brands.

Famed local restaurants now serving passengers at Midway include Arami, Billy Goat Tavern and Grill, Woodgrain Neapolitan Pizzeria, Nuts on Clark, Reilly’s Daughter, Porkchop and BIG & little’s. Travellers can also enjoy browsing at the airport’s first iStore, as well as Spectacles, Sweet Indulgences, the stacks, Chicago Sports and Chicago Market.

Composed of Vantage Airport Group, SSP America and Hudson Group, Midway Partnership is leading a three-year $75-million concessions upgrade at Midway, the first such improvement at the airport in 20 years.

Over the next three years, Midway Partnership will continue to reinvent the travel experience at Midway for its 22 million annual passengers. By 2020, the concessions program will offer passengers 70 brand new reasons to eat and shop at Midway, while also creating new jobs and new revenues that strengthen Chicago and its neighborhoods.

Thanks to an increase in the number and variety of concessions options, Midway Partnership has generated a nine per cent increase in passenger spend in the first year of operations, with total gross sales of $107M, $8.5M over the previous year’s program.
